NO ONE KNOWS YOU

You have no brand recognition, and no one is familiar with your brand name or what you do. You are unknown to the majority of your demographic.

THE FIX: Do some consumer research and find the gaps – change your strategy to get attention from them.


PEOPLE REACT NEGATIVELY TO YOUR BRAND

Your actions so far have alienated your audience, either through your values or marketing strategy. People don’t associate positive values with your brand.

THE FIX: Pivot and do some research on which practices are causing people to react this way. Change tactics.


YOUR BRAND VISION DOESN’T RESONATE

Your vision is either outdated, extreme, or not impactful. People aren’t relating to your vision and aren’t rooting for you.

THE FIX: Analyze your vision and purpose – what kind of impact do you want to make, and for whom?


PEOPLE AREN’T CLEAR ON WHAT YOU STAND FOR

Your brand hasn’t made it clear what it is you stand for. This is usually do to lack of consistency – you’re not working towards a single mission.

THE FIX: Identify your central purpose and focus on that. Show up consistently with your main message.


COMPETITORS DON’T MENTION YOU

Your competitors in your niche don’t consider you as competition. This is a massive red flag – this means you’re not even in the running.

THE FIX: Study your competitors and see what they’re doing that you’re not, and zero in on that.


YOU HAVE NO INQUIRIES OR SALES

No one is interested in your products or services, and aren’t curious to find out how you can help them.

THE FIX: You need to position yourself as an expert who can solve their problem. Without authority or expert positioning, no one will see you as someone who can provide a solution.


THE PRESS OR INDUSTRY DON’T MENTION YOU

Your peers in the industry or any press / news sites don’t mention you. You aren’t invited to speak on podcasts or events to share your knowledge.

THE FIX: Establish your thought leadership so others find your purpose meaningful. Your industry will seek you out.


YOU’RE FOCUSED MORE ON FINANCIAL TARGETS THAN YOUR VISION

You are focusing too much attention on making money rather than staying true to your mission. You are straying from your purpose.

THE FIX: Don’t make money by compromising your values. Always see if your monetary goals align with your purpose.


THERE IS NO CUSTOMER LOYALTY

Your customers don’t care to stick around. You do not have any fans who are loyal to you and what you do as a brand.

THE FIX: Create fans by building a core tribe and giving them attention. Your tribe will be your main audience.


PEOPLE DON’T WANT TO WORK WITH YOU

People don’t want to partner with you or work for your company. They don’t feel pride in associating with you.

THE FIX: Build up your brand image by highlighting your culture positively – create a people-centric environment that people would be happy to associate with.
